Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to assist the Assistant Director of Development and Alumni Services in promoting and expanding the initiatives of donor development and stewardship for the Development/Foundation Office. Areas of primary responsibility include: coordination of donor cultivation and recognition events; coordination of DMC Foundation special events and fund raisers; coordination of annual giving initiatives; coordination of donor communications; and management of a major gifts portfolio. Secondary responsibilities include assisting with the marketing and communications for the Alumni Association. In addition the position will help with other events and activities in support of the Office of Development, Alumni and Foundation Services.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Three years related experience in accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of experience in audit or financial management in non-profit area. Knowledge of Development and Foundation programs and activities, Alumni services and 501©3 organizations. Proficiency with accounting software programs. Ability to compile reports, conduct research, interpret data and provide detailed analysis. Evidence of strong communication skills.

Coordinate DMC Foundation special events and fundraisers such as Bernie’s Crawfish boil including budget development, table and ticket sales, volunteer recruitment and event management.

Recruit, develop and steward an active volunteer base to support Development/Foundation initiatives, projects and programs. Create volunteer job descriptions, project timelines and budgets for special events and projects. Provide staff support to volunteers involved in project activities.

Coordinate annual giving programs including the campus campaign, community campaign and special projects solicitation campaigns. Coordination includes development of campaign timelines, goal budget, solicitation materials, communication and marketing strategies, event support, and gift tracking.
