Job Description Summary

The Publications and Web Marketing Communications Specialist serves in the College Relations Office to produce original print publications and web-based content and implement updates for the College’s web site. This position will produce original materials for traditional print and interactive marketing communications and other online communication functions to complement the College’s marketing, branding and media efforts using HTML code, Adobe design software, web-based graphics and content management systems. For print and web-based publications, this position will develop and maintain graphic standards, research, design, graphically illustrate and produce complex full-color, paginated print publications, assemble and organize narrative text, prepare web-ready copy and graphics, print advertising, assist in preparation and presentation of College displays and exhibits, extrapolate and convert electronic text to produce effective marketing and advertising. In addition to developing content for the College’s web site, this position will review and maintain existing web sites and add pages, content and functionality, analyze and report web analytics, implement search engine optimization, assist with social media and ADA compliance

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in the emphasis of Print and Web-based marketing, strategic communication, advertising, Web development and maintenance, journalism, graphic arts, information technology or comparable field. Three years experience in education, higher education, corporate or business print publications, brand marketing, Web master/designer/editor, new media professional or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise to produce original print publications and Web-based content and implement updates for the College’s Web site. Ability to produce original materials for traditional print and interactive marketing communications and other online communication functions to complement the College’s marketing, branding and media efforts using HTML text, Adobe design software, Web-based graphics and content management systems. For print and Web-based publications, ability to develop and maintain graphic standards, research, design, graphically illustrate and produce complex full-color, paginated print publications, assemble and organize narrative text as well as prepare Web-ready copy and graphics, print advertising, assist in preparation and presentation of College displays and exhibits, extrapolate and convert electronic text to produce effective marketing and advertising, review and maintain existing Web sites and add pages, content and functionality, analyze and report Web analytics, implement search engine optimization, assist with social media and ADA Compliance on the Web site among other duties. Working knowledge of HTML and other current and emerging Web application capabilities, experience with Adobe design software.
